a year.

wasnt very big or controlled. - We didnt use the produce very often.

82007 CHOOKS
- Miss Kindellans grade bred some chickens from
their eggs using an incubator. - We feed them chook feed, green grass and food
scraps. - We made them like people by picking grass and
poking it through the cage so they could nibble
on it.
92008 JANUARY
- We where lucky to have parent helpers to come in
and water the garden over the summer holidays. - We started another Kitchen Garden at the end of
January. - We also have helpers come in for the kitchen
program.
102008 FEBRUARY
In February there is a lot of harvesting to do.
Some of the things we have to harvest is
Tomatoes , Lettuce, Capsicum , Spring , Onions ,
Plums, nectarines , Carrots , Rocket and Herbs.
We also needed to do a lot of watering to keep
the soil moist. We also needed to do a lot of
mulching and composting. We could make a lot of
things because of the huge amount of food we
picked.
112008 MARCH
We had to harvest and preserve a lot of tomatoes
, gherkins, cucumbers and zucchini. We had to do
a lot of mulching and watering. The fire pit was
finished by then as well. The leaves on the trees
were changing colour as well. We got our knife
licenses in the kitchen.
122008 APRIL
Autumn started in April so lots of leaves fell
off the trees. There was lots of pruning and
cutting back that we needed to do.
132008 MAY
We planted broccoli, peas, broad beans, spring
onions, coriander and red spinach. The leaves
were still falling from the trees.
142008 JUNE
Winter solstice is in June. Winter solstice means
the shortest day of the year. We continued
mulching and making compost.
In June we planted broad beans, peas, sugar peas,
garlic and golden shallots.
152008 JULY
In July the Almond trees started blossoming. We
also started pruning the fruit trees and planting
some new ones.
