Introduction
  • The Adventures of Pinocchio (Le Avventure di
Pinocchio) is a novel for children by Italian
    author Carlo Collodi
  • The first half was published in serial form
between 1881 and 1883, and then completed as a
book for children in February 1883
  • It is considered a classic of children's
literature and has spawned many derivative works
of art, such as Disney's classic 1940 animated
movie of the same name, and commonplace ideas,
such as a liar's long nose

    activity on other political newspapers
  • He died in Florence in 1890, unaware of the fame
and popularity that awaited his work

5
  • Pinocchio is the second animated feature produced
    by Walt Disney (1940)
  • In 2005 Time.com named it one of the 100 best
movies of the last 80 years

6
Part I. Carlo Collodi
  • b. His work
  • In 1856, his first novel In vapore he composed
various satirical sketches and stories, including
    Occhi e nasi (1881), Storie allegre (1887)
  • In 1875 he entered the domain of children's
literature with Racconti delle fate, a
translation of French fairy tales by Perrault
  • In 1880 he began writing Storia di un burattino
("The story of a marionette"), also called Le
avventure di Pinocchio, published weekly in Il

  • At the request of his editor, Collodi added
chapters 1636, in which the Blue Fairy
resurrects Pinocchio and eventually turns him
into a real boy, making it more suitable for
    children

Part II. Pinocchio
  • The cat and the fox
  • At the beginning of the story, the fox and the
cat seem quite nice and friendly
  • When they hear that Pinocchio has five gold
pieces, they become vicious and brutal
  • The fox proposes to double Pinocchios gold
pieces and offers him to go to the City of Simple
    Simons

water it in the Field of Wonders, one day later
he will find a tree loaded with gold pieces
  • Disguised as the Assassins, they try to stab and
to hang Pinocchio to the branch of a big oak

14
Conclusion
  • Pinocchio, in addition to a children's tale, is a
novel of education, with values expressed through
    allegory
  • One is that they mirror the values of the middle
class of the 19th century, in particular Italy as
    it became a nation state
  • Steven Spielberg's film, A.I. Artificial
Intelligence (2001), based on a Stanley Kubrick
project that was cut short by Kubrick's death,
recasts the Pinocchio theme, in which an android
with emotions longs to become a real boy
