Samsons Riddle
  • Judges 1412-14 And Samson said unto them, I
will now put forth a riddle unto you if ye can
certainly declare it me within the seven days of
the feast, and find it out, then I will give you
thirty sheets and thirty change of garments  But
if ye cannot declare it me, then shall ye give me
thirty sheets and thirty change of garments. And
they said unto him, Put forth thy riddle, that we
may hear it.  And he said unto them, Out of the
eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came
forth sweetness. And they could not in three days
    expound the riddle.

want.  He maketh me to lie down in green
pastures he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake.  Yea,
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou
preparest a table before me in the presence of
mine enemies thou anointest my head with oil my
cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me all the days of my life and I
will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Love?
Song of Solomon
  • Solomon 52-8 I sleep, but my heart waketh it
is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying,
Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my
undefiled for my head is filled with dew, and my
locks with the drops of the night.  I have put
off my coat how shall I put it on? I have washed
my feet how shall I defile them?  My beloved put
in his hand by the hole of the door, and my
bowels were moved for him.  I rose up to open to
my beloved and my hands dropped with myrrh, and
my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the
handles of the lock.  I opened to my beloved but
my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone
my soul failed when he spake I sought him, but I
could not find him I called him, but he gave me
no answer.  The watchmen that went about the city
found me, they smote me, they wounded me the
keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.
I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye
find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick
    of love.
