  with love!

This year Winnipeg churches are being encouraged
to simultaneously reach out into their
communities through acts of love and service
between May 30 - June 12.

Around this outreach are some other exciting
events planned!

So far 50 churches and parachurch ministries
are participating!

How can your church participate?

• By joining in on the Warm Up
• 1) Worship Invite your church for worship with
  Jon Buller and Hear the Music (Sat. May 15 - 8pm
  at the Burton Cummings Theatre)
• 2)The Annual Pulpit Exchange Have your pastor
  swap pulpits with another pastor and hear an
  inspiring message on community outreach (Sun. May
  29).
• 3) Citywide Prayer Come out and bathe our city
  in prayer (Sun. May 29) at Gateway Christian
  Community Church (851 Panet Rd).
• By doing Outreach between May 28 - June 12
• Have each ministry group in your church
  participate in their own or a combined outreach
  event in your church community. This includes
• Kids Church
• Jr. High/Sr. High
• CC/Young Marrieds
• Adult Care Groups
• Other Ministries (Seniors, Mens, Womens)
• By joining in on the Closing Celebration
• Join with other churches in the Closing
  Celebration (Calvary Temple - Sun. June 12). This
  will include 1 hour of local celebration and 1
  hour of nation-wide satellite celebration.
  Special guests include Brain Doerksen! (Start
  time 430pm)

What are some things your church can do?

• Community Clean-Up (garbage, graffiti)
• Singing in a nearby Seniors Home
• Visiting Patients of a nearby hospital
• Offering free grass cutting and yard work
• Having a Free Car Wash
• Handing out Free Hot-Dogs/Cookies/Coffee/Donuts/Fl
  ower to neighboring homes, police station, fire
  department, community centers.
• Helping the police on a project
• Taking prayer requests from the community
• Run a festival at a local park.
• Do a Blood Donor Clinic
• Have a free soccer camp or sports tournament
• Launch a community Recovery or Alpha program
• Run an outreach golf tournament
• Teach basic Car maintenance to single moms
• Put together food hampers deliver them
• Send some local disadvantaged kids to camp
• Put together a welcome gift for newcomers in your
  community
• Serve fruit and water at a local community club
  sports tournament
• Run a café out at a local

What Next Steps Should You take?

• Register your Church
• If your church has not already registered for
  Love Winnipeg register on the web
• (2) Share the vision of Love Winnipeg with your
  ministry leaders
• (3) Have your ministry leaders pick and plan an
  outreach event (their own or joint)
• Brainstorm the needs of your community.
• Pick an event(s) that could meet some of those
  needs
• Make the necessary arrangements to organize this.
  
• (4) Inform Your Church members
• Share the idea with the rest of your church and
  get them on board to participate in the outreach
  event(s) you have planned
• Use the Love Winnipeg Promo DVD, PowerPoint
  announcements, bulletin announcements, and
  bulletin insert that has been sent/emailed to
  you!
