  • In a conflict deviant act, the perpetrator forces
    the interaction on an unwilling other, or an act
    that began with cooperation turns with one party
    enforcing their will over the other.
  • The core of the interaction is hostility.

  • These acts can be carried out through secrecy,
    trickery, or physical force.
  • Part of the interaction between the perpetrator
    and the victim is not only controlling the
    situation to achieve their ends, but to control
    the victims perception of what is going on.
