PUMPKIN FACTS
  • Pumpkins are a fruit and they are the color
    orange when full grown!
  • When you cut a face into a pumpkin it becomes a
    Jack-O-Lantern.
  • It is believed that pumpkins originated from
    Central America.
  • Pumpkins are used in many food recipes. The
    seeds can be roasted and eaten. Many people like
    to bake pumpkin pie. Pumpkin muffins and bread
    are also very common.
  • Pumpkin flowers are edible!!!

Life cycle of Pumpkins
  • Stage 1 A pumpkin begins as a seed
  • Stage 2 The seed grows into a pumpkin sprout
  • Stage 3 The sprout becomes a pumpkin plant
  • Stage 4 The pumpkin plant grows pumpkin flowers
  • Stage 5 Finally a pumpkin arrives
  • Stage 6 When you cut a face into the pumpkin and
    it become a Jack-O-Lantern

  • Jack- O- Lanterns are created when a face is cut
    into a pumpkin.
  • We light up our Jack- O Lantern faces with a
    lit candle inside, or a light.
  • Jack-O-Lanterns are created for Halloween.

Biography
  • I am 5th year senior at WMU. I will be
    graduating in this upcoming spring with a degree
    in elementary education. My minors are physical
    education and early childhood.
