Zeus

• Zeus is the king of Mt. Olympus.
• His symbols are the eagle and the oak tree.
• He is the king of all people.

Hera

• Hera is the Queen of Olympus.
• Her symbols are the cow and the peacock.
• She is one of Zeuss wives.

Hephaestus

• Hephaestus is the god of smiths and fire.
• His symbols are the anvil and a large hammer.
• He is the peaceful son of Zeus and Hera.

Aphrodite

• Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty.
• Her symbols are the rose and the dove.
• She has no parents and is married to Hephaestus.

Ares

• Ares is the god of War.
• His symbols are a vulture and a spear and shield.
• His companion is Eris, and whenever he hears
  people fighting, he gets in his war chariot and
  joins the fight.

Athena

• Athena is the goddess of wisdom.
• Athenas symbols are a war helmet, shield, and an
  owl.
• She is a daughter of Zeus, and sprung out of his
  head.

Poseidon

• Poseidon is the god of the seas.
• His symbols are a trident, dolphins, and a horse.
• He is a moody god who controls the seas.

Apollo

• Apollo is the god of light, music, and reason.
• His symbol is the lyre.
• When he was strong, he was sent to Delphi. While
  there, he killed Python.

Artemis

• Artemis is the goddess of the hunt and the Moon.
• Her symbols are a bow and arrow and the Moon.
• She is a daughter of Zeus, and is never to be
  married.

Hermes

• Hermes is the messenger of the gods.
• His symbols are a caduceus, winged hat, and
  winged sandals.
• He is the son of Zeus and Maia.

Hades

• Hades is the god of the underworld.
• His symbols are a two pronged spear, and
  Cerberus.
• He locked up Theseus in the underworld. Theseus
  was then saved by Hercules.

Persephone

• Persephone is the Queen of the Underworld.
• Persephones symbol is the pomegranate.
• She is the daughter of Demeter.

Demeter

• Demeter is the goddess of the harvest.
• Her symbol is a stock of grain.
• She is the sister of Zeus, and the mother of
  Persephone.

Dionysus

• Dionysus is the god of wine.
• His symbol is the grape vine.
• He turned humans into dolphins for capturing him.
