Best points
  • Many agencies felt there was good community
involvement in this CREW, some residents now
  • Have more pride in their environment
  • More social with neighbours
  • Getting involved with the wider community and
    environment
  • Result of advertising and consultation??
  • Increased knowledge and awareness of inter-agency
    working
  • Good to have focal point at Community house, I.e.
    food, meeting point
  • Daily point of contact for agencies
  • Good support from Police Senior management
  • Feel good factor!!!!!

20
Lessons to learn for our next CREW
  • Consider school holidays to involve more of the
community (but truancy patrols and annual
    leave!!)
  • Ensure all residents and agencies are aware of
    the CREW boundary (map)
  • Always deliver highlight for the next day and not
the CREW schedule too many acronyms!!
  • Consider moving displays around the CREW area to
    give more coverage
  • Provide an agency contact sheet to residents
  • Consider before and after survey to evaluate the
    fear of crime
  • Consider use of Boxer for aerial photographs
  • Spread agency work more wisely across the day and
    week
  • More advertising and consultation

21
The next CREW
  • Fareham July 4th 9th at West End
  • Sponsorship from local businesses
  • Trash sculpture and litter poems competition to
be judged by Mayor and Superintendent
