- How to Perform an Insert Course Exception
2DEFINITION INSERT COURSE
- This exception will add or insert a students
course into an acceptable list of courses for a
certain requirement. - NOTE This is the most commonly used exception.
3EXAMPLE
- A transfer student received special credit for
a microbiology course MICRBIOLG000.09 4 K - This course was approved to meet the Molecular
sub-requirement of the Biology major requirement.
- Insert Course will insert MICRBIOLG000.09 into
the acceptable list of courses, along with
others, that can be used to meet the Molecular
sub-requirement.
4BEFORE THE EXCEPTION
Note 075 MOLECULAR is the pseudo course.
5HOW TO INSERT A COURSE
- Step 1. Run a List All audit if you need the
pseudo course name. - Step 2. Select Add Exception from the
Exceptions menu, THEN SELECT Insert Course from
the list. - Step 3. Enter the pseudo course/name for the
requirement being modified, then click SaveAdd. - Step 4. Select the exception just saved, scroll
to the bottom and click Add Course. - Step 5. Enter the course (dept and number) into
the Course field, then click ADD. - Step 6. Click Save Course List, then
SaveEdit.
6Step 1a. Select the Exceptions tab click Add
Exception.
7Step 1b. Select Insert Course.
8Step 2a. Enter the pseudo course name for the
requirement.
9Step 2b. Click SaveAdd
10Step 3a Select the exception just saved.
11Step 3b. Scroll down click on Add Course
12Step 4. Enter the course mask (dept and number)
into the Course field, then click ADD.

13Step 5a. Click Save Course List.
14Step 5b. Scroll down click SaveEdit.
15AFTER THE EXCEPTION Re-run the audit to verify
the exception
