    voltage.

7
Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring)
Regulations
  • Provides technical guidelines to help the
electrical trade comply with the statutory
    requirements in the Electricity (Wiring)
    Regulations.
  • Some fixed installations are exempted, e.g. MTRC,

    in buildings
  • Similar status as the CoP in Hong Kong

9
British Standards
  • In Hong Kong, British Standards are among a
number of Standards recognized in the CoP as
reference in the design, construction and
    manufacture of equipment

10
Harmonization Documents European Standards
  • European Committee for Electrotechnical
    Standardization (CENELEC)
  • Harmonization Documents (HDs)
  • European Standards (ENs)

11
Guo Biao (GB)

Publications
  • International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
    is an international Standards organisation
responsible for the preparation of Standards for
    electrical equipment
  • A counterpart of the International Organisation
    for Standardisation (ISO)

13
Other National Standards
