Lesson Summary
  • A lesson that connects Spanish explorers to the
    motive of discovering Gold. The students will
    connect Spanish exploration with motive to find
    riches. Students will Connect explorers with
    their routes, country, motive, date of
    exploration, and impact. They will also be able
    to discuss how these explorers and their country
    benefited from these discoveries.

Lesson Goals
  • Students will evaluate the importance of Spanish
    explorers coming to America and describe the
    importance of trade in expanding their countries
    economy.

  • At the end of the lesson
  • The students will be able to construct a chart
    that represents different Spanish explorers and
    their importance.
  • Describe two benefits in detail that the
    explorers and their country gained from the
    exploration of America.

  • Trade with Spain and the Indians during
    exploration and colonization helped to advance

  • Students will construct a graphic organizer which
    includes the explorer, their motive, the sponsor,
    dates sailed, route of exploration, and the
    impact it had on the world.
