• Hydraulic cylinders find their application in

  construction equipments, civil engineers and
  manufacturing machinery. A hydraulic cylinder,
  which is also known as linear hydraulic motor, is
  apparently a mechanical actuator which uses
  unidirectional stroke to give unidirectional
  force. Pressurized hydraulic fluid which is a
  kind of oil, is what the hydraulic cylinders get
  their power from.

• A hydraulic cylinder is made up of cylinder base
  or cap, cylinder head, cylinder barrel, seals,
  seal gland, piston and piston rod. Hydraulic
  cylinder has two different types of designs- the
  welded body cylinder and the rod cylinder. Though
  there are special hydraulic cylinders available
  in the market and include the differential
  cylinder, plunger cylinder, position sensing
  hydraulic cylinder as well as telescopic
  cylinder.
• Hydraulic Rams or hydram as it is known consists
  of a cyclic water pump which uses hydropower. The
  process involves intake of water at a hydraulic
  head and flow rate and outputting it at a lower
  flow rate than the earlier and a higher hydraulic
  head.

  the waste or clack valve loaded with spring or
  weight. Due to such a design, the hydraulic rams
  are economical to build, reliable as well as easy
  to maintain. The efficiency of a hydraulic ram is
  somewhere between 60 and 80. Though sometimes
  sufficient water supply issues due to improper
  adjustment of valve could occur.
• Even hydraulic rams are expensive. There are many

  ground work so that after making a huge
  investment you do not feel bluffed or cheated in
  any way as far as the quality and cost is
  concerned.
