The Jokes on Them We often laugh so hard at
slapstick moments on TV or in the movies when we
see dentures falling out directly from ones
mouth because we cannot bear the thought of that
accident ever happening to us. Often times we
would also see a denture soaked in a glass of
water sitting on top of grannys bedside table in
cartoons or comedy shows just to give the whole
setup a touch of funny. Since time immemorial,
the use of dentures or the lack of teeth have
been present in a lot of movies, TV shows, and
even in true stories to make people laugh, and
somehow this has been the point of ridicule for a
long time. The question is, however, is having
bad teeth, or lack thereof, really a laughing
matter? Is wearing dentures so ridiculous that it
is not considered as a serious fact of life but a
joke?
