• Abstract.
• Amomusica is an up and coming way to get local
  bands who would like to set up gigs noticed and
  to get them started into the industry of music.
  It will be available to the bands that live
  around the midland towns of Stratford-Upon-Avon,
  Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and Banbury.
• I propose to build a magazine website based on
  Amomusica. The content shall be as original as
  possible.
• The founder of Amomusica is my friend from back
  home Adam White. Having an Amomusica magazine
  website shall allow people to gain access to
  knowledge on up coming events, who sounds good,
  who sounds bad, interviews to bands, where the
  hottest places are to go for gigs and how to
  start into the world of amomusica.
• Having this information on a website will help
  out a lot with advertising. Also the reader will
  be able to look it up whenever they please for
  free.
• I will be using a Macromedia Flash program to
  create this website.

• Goals
• The main goal of the website is to offer
  information about upcoming gigs in my home local
  area being Stratford-Upon-Avon, Leamington Spa,
  Kenilworth and Banbury.
• The look of the website will be modeled in a
  new age rock style to keep to the style of the
  music which is being promoted.
• I will be adding audio where it feels
  appropriate. As it is a music website I would
  like to have songs playing in the background. On
  the main page I was thinking of linking guitar
  sounds over the content navigator.
• I would like to add a download link so people
  would be able to download various band songs
  somewhere in the site or pictures of art.

• User Experience
• Target Audience.
• The target audience will be focused on mid
  teens to early twenties. This means the
  appearance of the site shall be focused on this
  age group.
• However, this doesnt mean that it will not be
  pleasing for people above or below this age
  group. I shall try and make it eye catching for
  people of different age groups.

• Competitive analysis.
• For the competitive analysis I have been
  looking at different types of websites to do with
  music to get an idea on what I should be looking
  for which will help me in the direction of my own
  website.

  the pages I liked on this site and what things I
  dont like.
• It is a music band website with concert dates
  on it as I would like to have, only it is for
  more well known American bands instead.

• Colour scheme is nice and doesnt make your eyes
  strain when you look at it, and there is nothing
  distracting in the background.
• The navigation bar is simple and easy to find
  and also has a search bar on it.
• The logo for the site is simple, nice and easy
  is good.
• Not really a fan of all the advertising around
  the page. Makes the site ugly.

• This is a picture of further down the page. I
  like the idea of having a section of Up coming
  Shows with links which take you to the bands
  personal page on the website.
• There is not really an explanation to how to
  navigate through the show log.
• Could have been a nicer colour.

• Clinking on the links bring you to the bands page
  which you clicked on. It has a band picture,
  their name at the top, their tour dates in the
  middle, what they sound like and their influences
  on the left and below that an average rating of
  the band. Also by their picture they have a thing
  where you can select a few of their songs to
  listen to which is a nice idea.
• Not too fond of the blue colour and yellow
  writing myself but I do like the way its a blue
  background with a darker blue as a boarder for
  each section of the page.

• The Concerts page is rather straight forward.
  It is a list with the bands who are playing, and
  where their playing. The is also a filter bar
  which helps you filter out which band you are
  looking for, or location you are looking for and
  so on.

• This is a brief explanation of what content will
  be on each individual page. However the site will
  be updated at least twice a month due to new gig
  information, new band entries and general chatter
  that is happening for the bands and who is making
  it (if it were to be a real website).
• Homepage.

• Give a brief explanation to what Amomusica is
  about.
• Set the tone for the site, with visual and
  presentation of page layout.
• Have brief things telling you what the main
  pages have on them.

grey would be a nice Balance so I kept to this

Blog
10/10/06 I have 2 different ideas for my
project. Idea 1 To make a game review website
on old school games. As I am doing games design I
feel like I can relate to this a little more.
Idea 2 Make a music website for a local
community. This seems like a good idea too as I
love music as much as I do gaming. 17/10/06 Spoke
to Richard and James about doing the games
design website, told them my ideas. They didnt
seem too interested. When I asked why they said I
should think outside the box. I am going for
idea 2 which is the local music website. My
friend Adam White has got an idea to make
something like this called AmoMusica should try
getting a hold of him.
24/10/06 Spoke to Adam, said I can use his
AmoMusica idea for my project, also said he would
help me with what he wanted to do with it. So
AmoMusica is about local bands promoting their
music. The company then makes a gig and the bands
play there pretty simple. Site should contain
a gig section then.

31/10/06 I thought of the site layout. Site
should include Home page Gigs page Bands page
lt- maybe Songs page News page Home page shall
include a little about the site. Gigs page will
be the time and date of the gigs. Songs page
should have a song on it like a demo you get for
a magazine. News page should have a little news
about whats going on. 07/11/06 Shown Richard
my idea, He says it sounds okay. Been thinking
about colour schemes. Reds, blues, blacks, greys
and white. I have drawn a few hand sketches for
the sites layout. Shown Adam what I drew (hes
telling me what he likes and doesnt like about
the site, figured it would be good to show him as
it is his company) Have an idea of going to
Stratford when I go home to talk to some of the
local teens to see what they think of the idea.

21/11/06 I have finally started on designing the
site in Flash. Its pretty hard as its the first
time using the program properly for anything.
Getting used to simple action script is fun. Made
a banner for the entrance screen
Made a little motion tween with the enter screen
fading off. Then a splat effect comes up
Then the links come up followed by the main box.

28/11/06 Having a problem with the links with the
buttons, you press them twice and they skip
frames as if you were pressing the other buttons.
I am looking for a tutorial to help me there.
The logo now flashes blue to white. Had some
feed back from some guys I showed the site whilst
it was progressing this far who told me it would
be a nice little effect to throw in.
Added a content layer and converted it into a
movie clip so it could be faded into the
background using the movie clip tools.

06/12/06 Having some big problems with how messy
the layers are in the flash file. Seriously
considering flushing the current idea, and remake
a new one. I will be adding a song link soon. I
would like the track to play in the background
whilst the user can play around with the website.
However I would like to have a main page with a
little about the song and its album just for a
little information filler for the user to
enjoy. Still cant make the buttons work.

08/01/07 I Re-made the website. I have made the
layout on the layers a lot smoother. There is not
much time line being used up any more and looks a
lot nicer. Got the content down, spoke to Adam
about what he wanted in the content over
Christmas. We both went out and spoke to some of
the locals and bands about what they would like
on the website. We told them our ideas. No one
had a bad comment which was nice. Layout looks

This is the entrance screen, I put a loading bar
on it and the logo flashes while it loads.
Most of the pages look like the above. This is
the home page.

16/01/07 Most of the website is completed. I
added a media player to the songs page. I also
added a little play and stop button to every
page so whilst people go through the site and
read they can turn the song on or off whenever
they feel like it.
Above is the finished songs page. Thats the
site finished.
