• Thanjavur , formerly Tanjore , is a city which is
  the headquarters of the Thanjavur District in
  the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
• Scholars believe the name Thanjavur is derived
  from Tanjan, a legendary demon in Hindu
  mythology.
• While the early history of Thanjavur remains
  unclear, the city first rose to prominence during
  the reign of Medieval Cholas when it served as
  the capital of the empire. After the fall of
  Cholas, the city was ruled by various dynasties
  like Pandyas, Vijayanagar Empire, Madurai Nayaks,
  Thanjavur Nayaks, Thanjavur Marathas and the
  British Empire.

  by 16866 Ernakulam Karaikal Express at 2205Hrs.
  Overnight on train.

• Transfer by road to Kumbakonam.
• Check in to the hotel.
• After fresh up visit Adi Kumbeswara Temple and
  Nageswaran Temple.
• Post Lunch relax at Hotel.
• Evening visit Sarangpani and Ramaswamy Temple.
• Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in
  Kumbakonam.

• Later transfer to Thanjavur.
• Visit Brihadeshwar Temple.
• Post lunch visit Thanjavur Palace.
