Access OS command shell
  • Jane is a Unix system administrator in the
BusySoftware company. She frequently executes OS
commands from her PDA/cell phone while out of the
office. SSH/VPN is not always available.
goMyPlace requires only a regular WEB browser on
the client side. goMyPlace works with WAP and
    SMS messages.

Ring tone
  • Jim is a 10 years old son of Jane. Jim finally
got his own cell phone. Jim decides to replace
the default ring tone by MP3 file stored on his
father's Mac at home. He enters WEB browser on
the cell phone and in two clicks pulls the file.
    He uses free goMyPlace service.

E-mail with large attachment
  • John works in the technical support of
BusySoftware. Today he has to send an e-mail to
one of the customers with attached binary image
of approximately 300M. He puts a static URL
referencing the file on his desktop in the
office. John sends the e-mail with the link from
    his favourite PDA.

5
File access in LAN
  • Jane has 4 computers at home 2 Linux
desktops, one Mac for the graphic works of her
husband and one Win32 machine where Jim runs
games. After struggle with Samba, NETBios and NFS
she installed goMyPlace software on all computers
at home. On one of the Linux servers she runs
open source version of goMyPlace Proxy server.
All files are available on all machines without
any additional configurations. Jane is a
goMyPlace beta tester and always use bleeding
    edge latest release.

6
Blogging
  • John is a blogger. Every weekend he adds a new
post to his blog The cubicle escape. John paid
6/month for the hosting service and had limited
disk space on the server, not much of bandwidth.
John switched to goMyPlace services. John's blog
is limited by the size of disk on his desktop.
John kept his domain name - goMyPlace proxy
server does DNS redirection for free.

7
Smart house
  • Jane bought a new fridge. This is a latest
model of Samdung fridge with Internet access and
built-in bar code reader. Jane just loves to
check what is in the fridge via WEB browser. To
do the same from work she uses goMyPlace HTTP
tunnel feature. Jane's home network remains
protected by NAT and firewall. Jane's home IP
address is hidden behind Jane's nickname on the
goMyPlace proxy. Access to the fridge is in
safety of the private section of Jane's account.
