General Information

• Falsetto a fake upper voice when the vocal
  folds have the capability to vibrate so the
  singer can sing notes beyond their normal vocal
  range. Mostly recognized in men!
• Sound comes from our vocal folds flapping
  together in our larynx in our throat. It is
  protected by our Adams apple or thyroid
  cartilage.
• Mens Adams apples are larger than womens
  because their vocal cords are longer and thicker,
  thus they have deeper voices.

Can you damage your vocal cords?

• Excessive shouting, screaming cheering or crying
• Excessive loud talking
• Excessive coughing or throat clearing
• Inadequate breath support
• Allergies

• Chronic (long standing) upper respiratory
  infections or allergies
• Exposure to smoking
• Acid Reflux (stomach acid coming up the
  swallowing tube)
• Fatigue
