OBJECTIVE

• The Ph.D. in Economics at Carlos III trains
  academics to perform research in a number of
  active fields.  
• The program also provides students the tools
  needed to excel in public and private work that
  requires advanced knowledge of economic theory
  and techniques.

• The goal of the UC3M Economics Department is the

  Economic Association and published in the Journal
  of the European Economic Association (JEEA, vol.
  1(6) (2003) pp. 1346-1366), it was ranked in the

THE Ph.D. PROGRAM

• Master in Economics Analysis
• 1st Year 60 ECTS in three terms
• 12 core courses of 5 ECTS each.
• 2nd Year 60 ECTS in three terms
• Students complete two fields of specialization
  our of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics,
  Econometrics/Applied Economics and Industrial
  Organization
• 1 six-ECTS course from each chosen field in the
  first and second terms 24 ECTS.
• A masters thesis 12 ECTS.
• The remaining 24 ECTS are fulfilled with elective
  courses spread over the three terms.
• PhD in Economics
• 3rd through 5th Years Full time research towards
  doctoral dissertation.
