3How do you use HHPCs?
E-say Tech
The HHPC is used as a data entry tool. They
operate via touch screen technology. They
replace the need for diaries, notebooks,
inspection books, tape recorder and expensive
notebook computers. Full copies of legislation
can also be stored and displayed on them!
4What applications are there for using HHPCs
E-say Tech
- They can be used for
- Writing letters
- Recording conversations (using the in-built
recorder) - Data collection

The electronic recording of Environmental Health
inspections is achieved by using the HHPCs and
specific software. The main 2 components of this
recording system are
1. Handheld Software (allows recording of
Inspection results)
2. Environmental Health Premises Database
(using Microsoft Access)

Handheld Software
Environmental Health Premises Database
The Handheld Software is used to store the
inspection information on the HHPC. The data
is then exported to the Environmental Health
Premises Database where it is easily viewed.
Inspection sheets and letters can then be printed
from the database. This reduces time, duplication
and stress!

If you are not sure what the words mean then
simply click on the title and this screen appears
Select 1,2,3 to score the item inspected
If 2 or 3 is selected - then the common
non-compliances are shown
9Environmental Health Inspections - Example
E-say Tech
As the common non-compliances are listed, the
uniformity of inspections is very high - as the
officers are looking at/for the same
non-compliances! Once the inspection is
completed - the HHPC is brought back to the
office and the data is downloaded onto your
desktop computer. The data is then exported into
the Environmental Health Premises Database. Then
simply open the Environmental Health Premises
Database.
