• Poor lighting can lead to myopia
  (nearsightedness)
• Poor lighting can lead to increased headaches,
  which could distract workers

• Poor lighting can lead to increased stress
• Makes size and shape recognition difficult

• Defined as the amount of illumination the inside
  surface an imaginary 1-foot radius sphere would
  be receiving if there were a uniform point source
  of one candela in the exact center of the sphere
• As stated above, general construction requires
  five foot-candles
