During the first quarter of 2008, financial
worries continue to exist in the financial
capitals of this nation. The latest has been the
demise of Bear Stearns, one of the largest global
investment banks, securities trading, and
brokerage firms in the world, which has existed
for more than eighty years. This company, with a
book value of more than 7 billion dollars, was
purchased for 240 million dollars. While CTECU
used some of its capital to cover a small portion
of its expenses during 2007, we also increased
our Net Worth to Asset Ratio throughout 2007.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that our
income exceeded our expenses for the first
quarter of 2008. CTECU continues to serve 15216
each of you, our member/owners, to the best of
our ability. We will not compromise that
trust. With the current dividend rates, CTECU
recommends that you invest in the higher paying
CDs that are currently available. Please note
the following Regular CDs starting at 2,000.00
minimum balance and the rates that are currently
available thru 4-30-08 3 months 2.96 rate and
3.00 APY
6 months 3.11 rate and 3.15 APY
12
months 3.26 rate and 3.30 APY
30 months 3.45
rate and 3.50 APY
60 months 3.60 rate and 3.65
APY Near the end of the last Board of Directors
meeting, the directors declared the dividend
rates for the month ending March 31, 2008, as
follows Regular Share dividends at 1.00 rate
yielding 1.00 APY IRA Share dividends at 1.50
rate yielding 1.51 APY and Share Draft
