13
Interactive walkabout with local residents
  • Main Concerns with the proposed Northern Road
  • Traffic from the proposed Northern Road may use
Ladybalk Lane and Monkhill Avenue as short cuts
    or rat runs
  • The safety of pedestrians when crossing Ladybalk
Lane close to junction with Skinner Lane - if
    there is additional traffic.
  • The close proximity of the proposed roundabout
between Northern Road and Skinner Lane to the
    level crossing.
  • When the barriers are down at the level
crossing, traffic will cut through the
    Monkhill/Ladybalk Estate to avoid queuing
  • Traffic calming may reduce traffic speeds, but
it may not stop traffic using the roads in the
    Monkhill/Ladybalk Estate.
  • The impact of the additional traffic on the
    bungalows on Ladybalk Lane.
  • Ladybalk Lane is already busy without the
additional traffic that the proposed Northern
    Road will create
  • Monkhill Avenue and Monkhill Drive do not have
the ability to accommodate an increase in traffic
    flows.
