• Traffic is important to any kind of business, be
  it the brick- mortar or online business. It would
  not be an overstatement if I say traffic is the
  life blood of our business. The more traffic we
  get, the better our sales figures will be. I
  cannot stress the importance of traffic enough.

There are mainly two types of traffic, free and
paid. Our focus today will be how to get free
traffic.All right, let's get started. The first
method you can use is article submisstion. You
write an original article on the topic you want
to wirte. When you are done with that, you
convert your article into pdf format and then go
submit on various document sharing websites. The
reason for converting your article to pdf format
is because that allows you to submit the same
article to multiple document sharing websites
without being flagged. Here is a list of the most
commonly used document sharing websites such as
scribd, issuu, goarticles, yudu, docstoc, gazhoo,
edocr, calameo and etc.

Another tip I would like to share with you is
that you can consider giving away the
resell/redistribution rights to your readers
provided they don't change the content or remove
the links within the article( please remember to
embed links to your website/squeeze page within
the article). Doing so can help you snowball the
number of readers for your article.

After you finish submitting the article to all
the document sharing website, you can now move on

help you build your backlinks. This is a pretty
cool website and it has helped me a lot. I won't
go into details on how to use the website as it
can easily be found on the website itself and it
is quite straightforward.

On top of article submission and building
backlinks, you can also use this website
pingomatic.com whenever you publish a new
article. It helps you update the search engines
that your blog/website has been updated. Videos
are increasingly used to promote your website and
get more traffic. Have you noticed that youtube
videos are frequently shown on the first page of
your google search results? That means we
shouldn't ignore this useful marketing tool when
it comes to driving traffic to our website.
Please remember to mention your website link in
your video either at the start of the video or at
the end of it or both. It is also a good practice
to show the website link at the bottom of the
screen throughout the entire video. You can leave
the website link in the video description box
right below the youtube video.

Forums and Free Classified Ads websites can also
be used to reach out to your target audience.
Some of the free classifed ads websites include
craiglist, freeadsus.com, gumtree and etc. When
it comes to posting free ads, make sure that you
don't post the same ads too many times because it
will result your ads being deleted.

Social media websites are also a great way to get
free traffic with twitter and facebook being the
most popular ones. For example, you can use the
search funtion in twitter to seach for the key
words you are targeting. It will generate a list
of users who mentioned the key words in their
tweeds. You can start following them and chat
with them. I suggest you give them some valuable
and helpful information when you talk to them.
Caution Don't make them feel like you are trying
to sell them anything. Over time, some of them
will follow you back. In the case of facebook,
you can find facebook groups and pages where your
target audience mostly likely hang out. You can
post your latest article there for them to read.
If what you write interests them, they will click
the link and check out you and your website.
