• Born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1920
• Mom was a cook Dad worked with RR
• Siblings include 2 brothers and 2 sisters
• She was never married
• Alumni of UMC, graduated in 1976
• Still comes back to cheer the current teams on
• Worked as an administrator at what was Altru

Childhood Travels

• They made frequent trips to Canada because her
  Dad was originally from there
  
• They got cheap tickets through the RR company he
  worked for.

• She has traveled to over half the 50 states.
• Favorite state was Minnesota
• North Carolina and Virginia were close seconds
• She loved visiting the lighthouses

First World Travel

• She went on her first World Trip in the late
  1960s when she was in her forties.
  
• It was a 14 day excursion that went through 10
  countries in Europe.

• She added that China was very tiring with all the

in some parts

  families living in poverty

• She really enjoyed Austria because of its beauty

Souvenirs

• A treasured souvenir is some rings she bought
  from Spain
  
• Items from Spain are very cheap, 50 cheaper than
  what you can purchase in the U.S.
  
• Another treasured souvenir came from China a
  silk blanket

Future Travels

• She plans to make at least 2 trips each year
• After our interview, she left for Aruba on
  November 30th.
  
• She also is planning a trip to Costa Rica in the
  middle of January.

Impact on Travels

• She says that traveling has made her more aware
  of different cultures
  
• She also said that it makes her appreciate
  America more.
  
• Everyone should be grateful for the freedoms we
  have here in America.
