2- Hark, the Voice of Jesus Calling
- By Joseph Barnby
3Hark, the Voice of Jesus Calling
- Hark, the voice of Jesus calling, "Who will go
and work today?Fields are white and harvests
waiting,Who will bear the sheaves away?"Loud
and long the master calls youRich reward he
offers free.Who will answer, gladly
saying,"Here am I. Send me, send me"?
4Hark, the Voice of Jesus Calling
- If you cannot speak like angels,If you cannot
preach like Paul,You can tell the love of
JesusYou can say he died for all.If you cannot
rouse the wickedWith the judgments dread
alarms,You can lead the little children To the
Saviors waiting arms.
5Hark, the Voice of Jesus Calling
- If you cannot be a watchman,Standing high on
Zions wall,Pointing out the path to
heaven,Offering life and peace to all,With your
prayers and with your bountiesYou can do what
God demandsYou can be life faithful Aaron,
Holding up the prophets hands.
6Hark, the Voice of Jesus Calling
- Let none hear you idly saying,"There is nothing
I can do,"While the multitudes are dyingAnd the
master calls for you.Take the task he gives you
gladlyLet his work your pleasure be.Answer
quickly when he calls you,"Here am I. Send me,
send me!"

17- A Mighty Fortress
- Is Our God
- Text and music by Martin Luther
18A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
- A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never
failing our helper he amid the flood of
mortal ills prevailing. - For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us
woe his craft and power are great, and armed
with cruel hate, on earth is not his equal.
19A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
- Did we in our own strength confide, our
striving would be losing, were not the right
man on our side, the man of God's own
choosing. - Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is
he Lord Sabbaoth, his name, from age to age
the same, and he must win the battle.
20A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
- And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us, we will not fear,
for God hath willed his truth to triumph
through us. - The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for
him his rage we can endure, for lo, his doom
is sure one little word shall fell him.
21A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
- That word above all earthly powers, no thanks
to them, abideth the Spirit and the gifts are
ours, thru him who with us sideth. - Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life
also the body they may kill God's truth
abideth still His kingdom is forever.
