Title: I Am Louisiana
1I Am Louisiana
2I am the rivers and waterways, that flow through
me like veins.
3I am the cypress and magnolia, that grow with
every rain.
4I protect the mighty gator, as he roams
throughout my lands.
5I watch the friendly pelican, as he soars above
my sands.
6I am the stories told by all, the stories
everlasting.
7I am Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, the day before the
fasting.
8I am the taste of happiness, that make up every
feast.
9I am jazz, blues, and zydeco, rhythm, to say the
least.
10I am the sounds you hear at night, the sights you
see by day.
11I am the midnight air you breathe, and every word
you say.
12I am the colorful morning sky, and the evening
sun that sets.
13I am the fields for crops to grow, the
fisherman, and his nets.
14I am a unique culture, rising up from my past.
15I am in the hearts of many, my strength will
always last.
16I am but natural beauty, hidden deep, places
untold.
17I am Louisiana, standing strong, as I grow old.
