  • From the sun, it is at a distance of 2.6 parsecs
    (8.6 light-years). This is about 5 x 1013 miles.

Life cycle
  • Siriuss life cycle states that it was born as a
    medium size star, will turn into a red giant,
    supernova, and become a neutron star or white
    dwarf. It is currently in the medium star stage.
    It will die by supernova.

Constellation
  • Sirius is in the Canis Major constellation. Canis
    major represented either a two-headed dog, a dog
    that was a gift from Zeus to Europa, or Orions
    hunting dog, helping him to fight Taurus.
