• Sponsors the Sunday and Summer Academy programs
  for high school students. Modules using GPS, GIS
  and remote sensing have been developed for their
  instruction.
• Sponsors GIS training for students and tribal
  members. Each of these training sessions has
  averaged 20 participants.

Summary

• Sitting Bull College has a vibrant environmental
  science program, which includes GPS, GIS and
  remote sensing applications in the curriculum.
  One course in GIS is taught each year. Summer
  research programs extensively use these
  technologies.
