Who is the rock?

• Psalms 182 (NKJV) 2 The Lord is my rock and my
  fortress and my deliverer My God, my strength,
  in whom I will trust
• 1 Samuel 22 (NKJV) 2 "No one is holy like the
  Lord, For there is none besides You, Nor is there
  any rock like our God.
• Psalms 1831 (NKJV) 31 For who is God, except
  the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?

But He invites us to be part of the Rock!

• 1 Peter 24-5 (NIV) 4 As you come to him, the
  living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God
  and precious to him-- 5 you also, like living
  stones, are being built into a spiritual house to
  be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual
  sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus
  Christ.

  your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your
  heart that God raised him from the dead, you will
  be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you
  believe and are justified, and it is with your
  mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the
  Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will
  never be put to shame."

  Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a
  foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious
  Cornerstone of sure foundation he who believes
  (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone)
  will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away
  in sudden panic.

• While he agrees with all that Jesus said it is
  unclear if he does any of it!
• Jesus perceives that he answered wisely it was
  not clear if he lives wisely as well!

  not be wise in your own eyes fear the Lord and
  shun evil 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
  with the firstfruits of all your crops 10 then
  your barns will be filled to overflowing, and
  your vats will brim over with new wine.

Our confession of trust

• Lord we trust you with all our hearts, and we
  lean not on our own understanding. We acknowledge
  you in all our ways, and You will make our paths
  straight. We will not be wise in our own eyes, we
  will fear You and shun evil. Today we want to
  honor You with our wealth and Your word says that
  You will fill our barns till overflowing we
  bring you this offering as our worship and
  confession of trust. Amen.
