Background
  • Vietnam War one of the characters in the story
    is a veteran of the Vietnam War. US troops
    fought in Vietnam from 1965-1973. 58,000
    Americans died there and over 300,000 were
    injured. In 1982, a memorial, The Vietnam
    Veterans Memorial, was unveiled to honor those
    who served in the war.
