• UFs Cancer and Genetics Research Complex with
  approximately 285,000 sq. ft. is one of the
  largest research facilities in the state
• In collaboration with Orlandos Burnham
  Institute, a 50,000-sq.-ft. research facility is
  being constructed.
• Research areas will include diabetes, aging,
  genetics and cancer.

  Cancer Center
• A 500,000 sq-ft. cancer hospital is scheduled for
  completion in 2009.

Sustainability

• One of UFs goals of Zero Waste is to find ways
  to reduce campus waste to nearly zero by 2015
• In 2005, UF became the first university in the
  world to be designated a Certified Audubon
  Cooperative Sanctuary (for environmental and
  wildlife management, resource conservation, waste
  management and outreach education)

• One of the first universities in the U.S. to
  offer an Organic Agriculture undergraduate degree
  program.

• Victories include 26 national team championships
  and more than 200 individual national titles
• UF is the first university in history to win
  national football and mens basketball titles in
  the same year (2006)
• UF won back-to-back national
• championships in mens
• basketball in 2006-07.

  team titles and Academic All-SEC recipients
• UF is one of only four schools in the National
  All-Sports Top 10 with an athlete graduate

Community Relations

• UFs Community Relations department interfaces
  with governments and business groups in the North
  Central Florida region, to address issues of
  concern to both UF and the community.
• The UF Community Campaign (UFCC), an employee
  charitable program, annually donates more than 1
  million to the community.
• Community Relations hosts the annual Joint Civic
  Club Luncheon, as well as Community Campus
  Breakfasts throughout the year. The events
  feature speakers from UF and the community.
• Meeting space for non-profit, civic and service
  organizations is provided at UF's Eastside Campus
  on Waldo Rd. currently at no charge. Call

• Goal Raise 1.5 billion in private support by

• Provides student, faculty and research funding
  for all UF colleges and units.
