operation in excess of 8 animal units (1 AU
1,000 pounds).

- How?
- Develop and implement a nutrient management plan
or animal waste management plan - Maintain records of the generation, handling and
application of all nutrients - Submit annual report to the DNMC indication the
amount of nutrients applied or handled and the
acreage receiving the nutrients - Become certified as a generator, handler or
consultant.
6Timeline
- July 1, 2000. Commercial processors shall file
a nutrient assistance plan with the DNMC. - January 1, 2003 Nutrient management plan
development implementation required. One-fifth
of the plans will be required each year between
2003 and 2007. - January 1, 2004 Certification of all nutrient
handlers must be completed. - 2007 The DNMC shall ensure that the Nutrient
Management Program is fully implemented.
