  • Have you ever heard the sound a jacket makes when
    it is being zipped up?
  • What sound does a cat make?
  • What sound does a dog make?

  • Definition onomatopoeia are words that sound
    like the objects they name or the sounds those
    objects make.
  • Example"Zip" is an example of onomatopoeia
    because it sounds like what it is. When you zip
    up a zipper the sound the zipper makes sounds
    like a zipper. Here are other onomatopoeia words
  • zip, boom, bang, slash, slurp,gurgle, meow,
    and woof
