26Mission Information- Zephyr Point is very much
a self-sustaining mission.- Their fees cover all
of their expenses.- They have a full-time staff
of 30.- It is a challenge to find accommo. and
food service staff because they compete with
the casinos.- They sometimes have 3 hours to
turn over buildings between guest groups and
they get it done.- They have one cabin that they
turned into their store.- They borrowed to build
the Tahoe and Tallac Centers and are paying
off 6.5 million in mortgage loans.- They do a
lot of proactive and preventative maintenance.-
Their contracts are rock solid because they have
created demand for their facilities.- Groups
can book up to 1 year in advance. First choice is
given to the group with a current reservation
date.- Staff are on call 24/7 to the groups via
radio and cell phone.- Staff greet each group no
matter what time they arrive.- The mission is
organized and service oriented to a high
degree.- Even with their debt, they put 1
million in the bank last year.
