Are Women Good Candidates For Hair Transplant

• Thinning hair is a cause of concern for
  many people. The causes range from illness,
  medication, inheritance to the use of harsh
  chemicals for styling. The remedies for hair loss
  range from best hair loss products to surgical
  hair restoration for the prevention of hair loss.
  Hair transplant is one of the most common methods
  of hair restoration. The hair and follicles in
  the donor sites in men are not affected by
  dihydrotesterone(DHT) the shrinks follicles on
  the head and hence these donor sites are called
  stable sites. The hair loss in men due to
  inherited reasons is called androgenetic alopecia
  or male pattern baldness and is as a result of
  dihydrotesterone or DHT. There is usually
  instability in the donor sites in women. The
  thinning in the donor sites too takes place just
  like in other areas of the head. Moreover, the
  donor areas are affected by follicle-killing DHT.
  If the hair and the accompanying follicles from
  the donor areas in women are removed and
  transplanted to other areas, they are going to
  fall out. It can be inferred that if the surgeon
  attempts to transplant hair from an unstable
  donor site in women it is potentially unethical
  and the surgeon may just be trying to take
  economic advantage of the patient.
