  better. This in fact improves to a certain extent

• Sometimes patients come to the dentists to fill
  in their missing teeth. In such cases dentists
  use dental bridges or pontics which are not
  actual teeth. These are placed between two
  porcelain crowns and are known as fixed bridges
  because they are firmly fixed to the sides of the
  false tooth. We should remember that it is not
  possible to take them out like the partial
  dentures.
• Again there are Cantilever bridges which are
  generally used in the front teeth. These bridges
  are useful in the sense that they prevent
  occurrence of gum diseases and even improve ones
  speech.

• We have heard of veneers which are merely
  porcelain laminates. These are applied directly
  to the teeth to fill in gaps in teeth or to cover
  up the discolouration of teeth when the option of
  whitening of teeth fails.
• Gum Lift
• Another cosmetic dental procedure that requires
  lot of skill is gum lift. It means reshaping the
  gum line. Under this procedure the tissue or
  bones lying underneath are shaped properly to
  correct the position of teeth and make them more
  symmetrical.
• Cosmetic Dental Surgery
• Cosmetic dental surgeons specialise in different
  fields like root canal treatment, implant,
  denture etc. They get involved in studying single
  fields of their choices which give them the
  expertise that is required in that particular
  field. Along with these handling complicated
  cases in their practices make them mature and
  better able to handle cosmetic dentistry.
