8Does it Work?
- A decade ago an average of 22 children per year
died in school bus stop related injuries - School Systems began to teach students where to
walk while boarding and exiting the school bus - There were only 3 in 2000
9Wrap-up
- Need to be familiar with school transportation
and Fire Rescue operations - Need to have a plan to deal with incidents
- Need to practice that plan
- Constantly need to re-evaluate training, the plan
itself, and execution of the plan - Make the public your informed ally
