Goals

• Introduce three different environment in which
  care could be deployed consideringhospitals
  size and budget.
• Introduce up to six different computer
  configuration, both Pc (AMD Athlon based) or
  Apple Macintosh which can be used in the three
  different care environment.
• Give detailed specs for each Hw part used in the
  previous six computer configurations (where
  possible) allowing people to understand why a
  choose was made and to replace missing parts with
  similar or better ones.

  realized with Pc or Apple Macintosh computer,
  even a mixed environment could be used

• In this configuration we will have a front end
  machine with Apache web server and PHP engine, a
  firewall, and a clustered dual processor machine
  which runs the SQL database.
• This configuration is indicated for very big
  hospital with a huge number of transactions every
  second and a large database.
• The idea is to build modular configuration so, in
  case of Hardware failure,even if the part is
  missing, it is possible to recover from another
  machine.
• This configuration will accomplish both access
  and Hardware fail security, even if its not
  meant to be a 99,9 fail proof system.

Engine

• The purpose of this machine is to deploy dynamic
  web (eventually wap) contents to the final users.
• This machine is outside the firewall because
  fisically include no-data.The Hard Disks
  machine configuration is very minimal as only
  O.SPHP and eventually a PHP accelerator like
  Turk MMCache or Zend.
• We have a remote database and all the filesystem
  contents are accessed through virtual
  directories.
• The machine do not need monitor, keyboard, floppy
  disk, Cd-Rom or other things (used only for the
  configuration) and the ram amount requiredis
  very very low.
• The machine can run both Windows NT4 - 2000 XP
  Professionaland every Linux distribution.
• In addition you can find an Apple Macintosh
  configuration.

• This machine runs the SQL DataBase and the shared
  FileSystem for DICOM images and media.
• Its dual Athlon MP machine equipped with 2 Gb of
  DDR Ram.The multiprocessor environment allows a
  better load balancing between I/O operations
  (FileSystems) and DataBases one.
• It comes with built in two RAID 0, 1 channels and
  is equipped with one HD for the Operating System
  and, intially, two mirrored HD
