2Logging In
- Go to http//destiny.springisd.org and enter your
username and password. If you have not set this
up with the librarian, please do so. It only
takes a minute. - Dont forget to bookmark this site on your
computer. - Using your own login allows you to build lists
and print them, to search for websites aligned
with TEKS, and more.
3At school, you can access the same page using the
Book Search icon on the NAL screen.

5You can access databases, outside links, and
subject links from this site. Log in at the top
right corner to get the most out of your searches.
6When you log in, you will see this screen but
yours will not have all the tabs across the top.
Your screen will have Home, Catalog, and My Info
tabs.
7Basic Library Search
You can do a simple book search by first
selecting the Cataloging tab, then from the left
menu, select Library Search.
Then enter your search term in this box beside
Find.
Last, select Keyword, Title, Author, or Subject.
8Searching by TEKS
1. Select Standards Search.
2. Enter Texas.
4. Enter Subject from drop-down menu.
5. Enter grade.
3. Enter topic.
5. Click Search.
9You want to Search, not Browse.
Be sure you are in the Search mode, not the
Browse mode.
10Clickable Links Aligned with TEKS
You can run your cursor over the text here to
find clickable links. Choose the TEKS that apply
and click on a link.
11Click Web Sites
Now you can see a list of TEKS aligned web sites
that may suit your needs. These links are
clickable.

16Ebsco and Britannica Online
Ebsco contains a lot of periodical articles. If
you want encyclopedic articles, you might try
Britannica Online first.
For Professional needs
For student and classroom needs
17Select databases
Click the box next to the databases you want to
search. You can click more than one. Each has a
description beside it to help you decide which
would be helpful.
Academic Search Complete is a catch-all database
to choose if you are unsure.
18Basic Search
- Enter your search term beside Find.
- Check Full Text or you will get results without
text. - If you need References, check that box.
- Scholarly Journals are reviewed by Ph.D.s or
Ph.D. candidates usually. - Narrow by publication date if you need to.
- Choose Publication Type.
- Select English.
- Select All on Articles with Images if you want to
see pictures, graphs, etc.
19Viewing Results List
Important Click here instead of using the Back
button.
Choose PDF Full Text to print from.
Narrow your search by combining it with these
subjects if needed.
20Saving Searches
Create a MyEBSCO-host account and save your
searches by clicking Add Search to Folder. Click
the Add button to add articles to your folder.

This will take you to the Gale Group of
databases. Your password is lonestar.

This is a great database for subjects like
science and social studies, as well as some other
subjects. Your username is charlotteb and your
password is champs. Our temporary trial ends
next week. Use it now and tell me how you like
it.
