• From the Yangcheng evening news paper

• In Fujian province
• A 27 year old young man Xu, went to the hospital
  because of chills and fever
• The doctor made a diagnosis as leptospirosis
• After the patient had been injected PG and
  Virazole, the doctor let him back home.

• A zoonoses of worldwide distribution caused by
  pathogenic leptospira species
• Source of infection Rats, Swine
• Basic clinical Features high fever ,
  conjunctival suffusion and myalgia
• Severe cases jaundice ,renal failure, pulmonary
  hemorrhage and meningeal signs
• Effective with treatment of penicillin G
