Features Benefits
  • Welded and Cold Drawn Products
  • Tube shells are formed and TIG welded on a
    welding mill. A
  • mandrel or plug is then inserted and the
    tube is pulled
  • through a die, which reduces the OD, as well
    as the wall
  • thickness. Multiple passes may be required
    to achieve the
  • finished size. The end result is a
    full-finished welded tube ID.
  • Advantages of Cold Drawn welded tubing
  • Additional cold work to the weld zone enables
    greater
  • corrosion resistance
  • The ability to produce standard and
    non-standard sizes
  • Tubes are more uniform and maintain tighter
    tolerances than
  • as - welded or seamless products

10
Features Benefits (contd)
  • Seamless Cold Drawn
  • A mandrel or plug is inserted in the ID of a tube
hollow, and the tube hollow is pulled through a
die which reduces the OD and wall thickness.
  • Starting tube hollow sizes
  • 1.00 and 1.25 schedule 40 (33.4mm and 42.16
    mm)
  • (or larger, when required)
  • From these starting sizes, standard and
    non-standard tubing are produced.

11

hydrogen atmosphere for an O/D and I/D Bright
    Anneal Finish.
