Step 1 Application
  • Apply online at www.bakersfieldcollege.edu
  • Usually takes 4 to 24 hours to clear
  • Redo the application if it didnt work the first
    time.

Step 2 Orientation
  • All new matriculating students must participate
    in
  • Live orientation on 2nd Wednesday at 300 in
    Forum
  • OR
  • Online orientation quiz at counseling webpage

ESL Orientations
  • For students whose primary language
  • is not English, call 395-4479 to make an
  • appointment for ESL Orientation.
  • All sessions are from 100 to 300 p.m.

Step 3 Assessment
  • English
  • Reading
  • Math
  • Not required for non-prerequisite classes
  • Walk-in testing (2.5 hours)
  • Monday 8 am to 6 pm
  • Tuesday 8 am to 2 pm (except 1st Tues.)
  • Friday 8 am to 1030 am
  • Bakersfield College Assessment Center is located
    in the Finlinson Conference Center

  • Seating is limited
  • Call 395-4479 to make an appointment
  • If English is your second language (you speak
    another language other than English with your
    family), it is highly recommended you attend ESL
    Assessment.

  • All matriculating students must see a counselor
    at least once
  • During open registration, students may register
    prior to seeing a counselor
  • To make a Counseling Appointment
  • Go to the Student Services building
