4
Title II Part D - EETT
  • Goals
  • Improve student academic achievement through the
    use of technology in schools
  • Assist all students in becoming technologically
literate by the end of eighth grade
  • Encourage the effective integration of technology
with teacher training and curriculum development
    to establish successful research-based
    instructional methods.

5
Title II Part D - EETT
  • Allocation Breakdown
  • State activities -- up to 5 percent may be used
for State-level activities and to assist local
efforts to carry out the purposes of the program.
  • Formula grants -- 50 percent distributed on a
formula basis to eligible LEAs that have
    submitted applications to the State.
  • Competitive grants -- 50 percent distributed on a
competitive basis to eligible local entities that

6
Title II Part D - EETT
  • Accountability
  • DPI must develop a process and accountability
    measures to evaluate effectiveness of
    integrating technology into curricula and
    instruction.
  • Wisconsin will use enGauge
  • Evaluating States Educational Technology Programs
    grant
  • Program Evaluation

7
Title II Part D - EETT
  • Accountability
  • LEAs must also develop a process and
accountability measures that they will use to
evaluate the effectiveness of activities in
  • integrating technology into curricula and
    instruction
  • increasing the ability of teachers to teach
  • enabling students to meet challenging State
    standards.
  • The DPI is responsible for ensuring that LEAs and
eligible local entities comply with EETT
    statutory requirements.

8
Title II Part D - EETT
  • enGauge in Wisconsin
  • Districts that completed the enGauge online and
onsite process since January 1, 2002 do not need
to repeat the online and onsite for FY 2005.

9
Title II Part D - EETT
  • enGauge in Wisconsin
  • All LEAs which have not participated in a
competitive EETT award prior to this year must
complete both online and onsite in Fall 2005,
unless they have completed both online and onsite
    since 2002.

10
Title II Part D - EETT
  • enGauge in Wisconsin
  • Previously funded LEAs should repeat the enGauge
process as needed in their technology planning
cycle for continued certification. At a minimum
an LEA should repeat the online portion every
three years and the onsite within six years of
    their original onsite process.

11
Title II Part D - EETT
  • enGauge must be completed in the fall of 2005 for
those who have not done so prior to application
  • Forms indicating the districts contacts for
    enGauge must accompany the application
  • Each application must have this form completed
    and submitted

12
Title II Part D - EETT
  • enGauge in Wisconsin
  • Cost Structure
  • Fee for training
  • Cost for subs
  • Travel meals etc.
  • (may be budgeted as professional development)

13
Title II Part D - EETT
  • The decision to participate in an application
individually, or as part of a consortium, is up
    to the district.
  • The maximum award amounts were developed with
100 participation in onsite enGauge in mind.
  • Districts or consortia which have less than 100
participation in onsite enGauge would be funded
    at levels 25 less.

14
Title II Part D - EETT
  • Accountability in Wisconsin

may be more in the future, depending on direction
    from the USDoE.

15
