  • The polar bear lives at the top of the world in
the Arctic Circle. This land provides no shelter
what so ever, but this unique bear is at home
hear. Polar bears live most of their lives on ice
floats were it is easier to hunt. Polar bears
also spend most of their time in the water
hunting for them. In the summer polar bears come
ashore and act like normal brown bears. Polar
bears live in the tundra biome north of Canada.
The tundra is a biome filled with snow and is
cold most of the year. In the tundra there are
    pretty much no plants.

  • Did you know that a polar bears fur looks white
but really it has no color at all in fact each
hair is really a hollow tube that lets sunlight
go through to its black skin. That helps the
polar bear keep warm, some on the sunlight
reflects off the bear and makes it look white.
This bear has a layer of blubber to keep it warm,
this layer of fat can get to 10 cm thick. A male
polar bear can get up to 410 kilos and a female
up to 225 kilos. The polar bear paw is very long
it can grow to 30 cm wide and 18 cm long. A polar
bear has very long nose and head. All though
polar bears have very small ears cause they
dont need to hear well. All they need is their
nose to hunt besides if their ears were any
bigger they would stick out and freeze! Its
niche is the top of the food web in the arctic
    circle.

to have her cubs she will dig a den out of snow
for her to give birth to them. The mother bear
usually has two cubs, the cubs are born in
January or February. The cubs weigh about 600
grams at birth. Then they will stay with their
mother for 3 years when their almost full grown
and 3 weeks in the den before that. The female
polar bear will teach them how to hunt for food
    the father will do nothing.
