• The idea came about in 1968 during the Cold War
  era
• A Project code named ARPANET (Advanced Research
  Project Agency Network) launched in 1969.
• ARPANET connected four computers in four
  different universities throughout western United
  States

  Protocol (TCP/IP) Still used to date.
