Whats driving growth?

• Until recently, water was viewed as a low-cost
  commodity
• Every day, industry uses 25 billion gallons of
  water for process water, etc.
• Electric plants use some 186 billion gallons of
  water daily, mostly for cooling
• Many plants are past their design life and
  require extensive upgrades or replacement
• Stricter standards

Water Industry is Changing

• Analytical equipment today measures impurities to
  part-per-trillion
• Cost of water will rise 2-3 X over 3-5 years
• Term wastewater will disappear
• Industry spends some 5-10 X the cost of municipal
  water to treat and dispose of wastewater

Potential New Revenue Sources

• Metering equipment becomes process control
• Utilities will offer bottled water and POU
• Utilities will offer contract services
• Municipalities will turn to private operators
• Desalination will become common place
