- National Development Fund
- The National Development Fund was offered through
Synchro Canada as a mechanism for fundraising.
The benefit to those individuals that took
advantage of this program was a Tax Receipt for
their donation. A club program cost would be
increased by 15 and the total monies forwarded
to Synchro Canada. A tax receipt was issued to
the family. Synchro Swim Ontario also benefited
by this and annually received approximately
30,000. - Synchro Canada has withdrawn this program and
there is a definite impact to Ontario Members and
the Provincial Body.

- National Competitions
- Canadian Open Synchronized Swimming Championships
(May) - Event is 6 days (1 practice day 3 competition
days 1.5 NTT) - Events Tier 7 Junior and Senior. Includes
Figures, Solos, Duets, Team and Combo
opportunities. - Junior swimmers may swim on both a Junior and
Senior Team (NEW) - Entry Requirements imposed (Quotas 5 East 5
West 2 Atlantics) - T7 Jr - top 20 from Eastern/Western Divisionals
for Solo and Duet events. Top 15 with 73.00 (JR)
Championships qualify for Prelims with
Competitiors 16-20 participating in Consolation
Final along with competitors 11-15 following
prelims. - T7 Jr top 20 Teams participate in prelims with a
final for top 10. No consolation Final. - T7 Sr Top 20 advance. All athletes must
achieve a qualifying score of 78.00 - T7 Combo Top 20 advance. Prelim event with
Final for top 10. No consolation final.

Championships (June) - Event is approx 4 days (1 practice day 3
competition days ½ day clinic) - Events Tier 6 and 7. Includes Figures, T6
15U/Open Solos, Duets, and Team. T6 Select Team
(T6/7 athletes averaging to T6 replaces Varied
and includes Figures) and T6 Combo (T6 7
averaging to T6) opportunities. - Entry Requirements imposed
- T6 - top 20 from Eastern/Western Divisionals plus
provincial representations (max 29 competitors)
for Solo and Duet events. Team Top 20
provincial representation (max 29). Prelim and
Final events with consolution final for positions
11-20. - T6 Select - top 20 Teams participate with
provincial representation (max 29). - T7 Combo Top 20 advance with provincial
representation (max 29)

- From a sport development perspective we arent
attracting younger swimmers. Need to plan how to
attract more - Based on the ages reviewed if athletes are
being placed in their respective tiers based on
Ability then why are the younger athletes not
highly represented in the camp numbers. If
ability is the only consideration.

- Risk Management Policy Development with Canadian
Centre for Sport and Law - This process will
- Review the operations of the organization with an
intent to focus on the following key risk areas - Participant safety
- Governance policies and practices
- Decision-making and dispute management
- Identify risks which are deemed significant and
needing attention. - Establish risk management measures to reduce,
transfer or avoid the identified risks, and
develop a plan for their implementation. - Provide educational opportunities, including Risk
Management Tools, for member clubs. -

- New Figures for AWD (cognitive and physically
challenged) - Tier 3 Duets added
- Top 15 of athletes in Tiers 1-5 figure events
at Tier Championships must move to next tier
level. (Athlete information is available in your
individual packages today). Movement of 1st
place team to next tier will be reviewed in 2005. - Competitions
- All meets with the exception of East Regionals
and Trilliums (12 and Under) are spoken for. - Competitions are outlined on the SO Website and
has been included in News Splash. - April 23/24 Inter-provincial Meet with Quebec
