Genomics

• Understanding the genome of an organism is known
  as genomics
• It includes carrying out studies and research to
  know the DNA sequences and minute genetic mapping
  efforts of an organism

• Genome refers to the full set of DNA of an

• The human genome consist of 3 billion DNA base
  pairs that are present in every cell of the body

  compounds known as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)
• DNA is made of two twisting, paired strands.
• Each of these strands is made of four chemical
  units, called nucleotide bases, which comprise
  the genetic alphabets. The order of these
  alphabets creates the information needed for
  development of the body.
