• Dual - fuel engines (DF)

  negligible quantity of liquid pilot fuel is
  enough to ignite the mixture of air and gas. The
  dual fuel engines are also adorned with a system
  of fuel backup.

• Diesel engines
• A camshaft pumps are used to inject the liquid
  fuel at a high pressure towards the cylinder.
  This is the start of the diesel process. The
  higher temperature results in the combustion of
  fuel. After working, the exhaust gases are
  emptied out of the engine by opening up the gas
  valves. This engine is celebrated for its high
  efficiency and lower rate of emission in the
  process of working on the engine.
• Gas - diesel engines
• The gas diesel engine makes use of the basic
  combustion process of the diesel in its
  operation. When the engine is in the gas mode,
  the gas is interjected at a high level of
  pressure after the ignition of the pilot fuel.
  Nearly five percent of the energy of the fuel is
  required for the operation. The fuels which can
  be put to use in this engine includes light fuel,
  crude oil or the heavy fuel. The mechanism used
  in the gas- diesel engine is similar to the
  traditional process of a diesel engine. These
  engines are particularly adept in dealing with
  the fuels and gases which are non-pipeline in
  nature.

• Spark - ignited engines
• The spark ignited engines also works on the
  mechanism of the lean burn otto engines. In these
  engines also, the gas gets mixed with the air
  much before the mixing of the inlet valves. The
  process of emptying the engine and the cylinder
  is very lucid in the case of this Wartsila
  engine.
