complete by 2011 - NAPN/M 20th Anniversary/Celebration - 2006

- Muskoday Summer Program
27Challenges
- Maintaining partnerships and funding base
- Budget soft money vs. base funding
- Human Resources new initiatives require more
staff - Research/scholarship focus how to accomplish
28Student Comments
- I especially appreciate the spiritual support in
times of personal crisis. The staff offer
..support in all aspects of student life - This support program was very helpful in so many
ways and I don't think I would have graduated
without this program. I think the more the
program provides services for aboriginal nursing
students, more students will stay in school and
graduate
29Student Comments 2006
- I moved away from home for the first time this
year. Immediately in my first month of school I
felt very welcomed by NAPN and was invited to
many different gatherings. Because of NAPN, I
feel like I've had so many opportunities to both
connect with my culture (i.e. through Cree
classes) AND get to know other Aboriginal people
in the health professions which is very important
to me as a medical student.
30Community Comments
- NAPN and the summer student brought a cultural
sensibility that both augmented our teamwork and
provided me personally with a lot of support.
(R.Kotowich, Regina Health Region) - Our students need the important support systems
and academic counseling services NAPN provides.
